Just thought then i'd try a couple of image-based logo's afterwards, just adding tones and colour:

SP new logo
After a discussion with the mastering engineer over at SamplePhonics, he mentioned that the type might get lost at the bottom, so i've just split it on either side of the logo and upped the point size a little.
