YR bk full sample layout

Now this is basically a collection of all the work I've done on this project up to this point. I basically thought it would be good to show, as a quick mock up, about the full extent of the book itself as a whole. I've just used a number of the spreads from our first few layouts for the original 3 students we've got so far, and inputting the other elements - contents, quotes pages etc. It just gives more of realistic feel to the thing rather than constant sheets of spreads. Its also nice to see the (very crudely photoshopped) front cover as well.

The contents page is an extension of an idea Luke had about thumbnail squares. Within my awesome 12x12 grid we're using (did i mention it was awesome?) the number of pages (60) conveniently and expertly fits perfectly as 3x3 thumbnails in the grid (where each thumbnail denotes a double page spread), minus one thumbnail at the front for the cover (blank) and one for the back (blank).

As a little experiment I decided to run these squares (just white and green) across the quotes pages, not all of them, just one or two, to carry the theme through the rest of the document. I like it personally, and i think the guys do too.
